How to get the most perfect Candy Pink Hair: L'Oreal Professionnel Colorful Hair

loreal colorful hair

Hair color is the new makeup, L'Oreal Professionnel says. Why? With new technology, you can change your hair color easy peasy like makeup. Bright and pastel hair colors are becoming present as a normal splash of color and are easily replacing usual, boring hair colors. I'm pretty sure at least 1 out of 3 of you have attempted or tried at least one bright or pastel hair color. It was pretty darn difficult to find ''out of the frame'' hair color 2 or 3 years ago. And I'm super happy to see a huge interest in this colorful field these days in both - professional and drugstore lines. I had privilege to try out new L'Oreal Professionnel #ColorfulHair haircolors that are pretty innovative compared to previous hair salon possibilities...

SLO
''Hair color is the new makeup'', trdi L'Oreal Professionnel.

Passing or fancy? New Skincare & Haircare on Trial: Autumn 2016

Skincare & Haircare Trial from January is still highly favourable post on my blog. And I can see why. It's easy to read, informative, loaded with different products and it's a quick fix when you're doubting about any new product on the market. Shall we dig into another pile of new haircare and skincare?

New Skincare & Haircare on Trial

When you're a beauty blogger, a lot of stuff crowds your space sooner or later. Dealing with your own struggles not to buy everything you see, and also cooperating with brands, is a big challenge to manage on a small place like your own personal blog. Sometimes things can slip by...but not today. I've prepared a big old mixture of pretty unique skincare, bodycare and haircare that deserve to be mentioned. Lipsticks and other tempting makeup can easily overtake my blog space. Having only two hands and always running out of time, these ''by-now-well-tested'' products have finally got an opportunity to shine. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to be extra brutal this time around.

SLO
Vsekakor so izdelki koktajl mojih nakupov in podarjenih stvari.

Essentiq Neutral Facial Cleansing Gel (online, 200ml for 11,99€) is a fairly new release on Slovenian market as it's all natural, organic and made in Slovenia. What else could we ask for? The brand is also branching abroad (did I see Tokyo on their website?), which is totally understandable due to quality over quantity of products. This Green Lemon & May Chang Cleansing Gel is pretty much superb. I love the gel-thick consistency, it's gentle, the scent is neutral but warm, ingredients are superb yet it cleanses without stripping moisture out of your skin. It doesn't remove eye makeup but still deserves a big like from me.

Burt's Bees Radiance Facial Cleanser (about 15€ for 175ml, online) is a long lost repurchase of mine. I was searching for a gentle face cleanser that wouldn't take all the moisture out of my dry skin, and I got it. It has a pretty unique jelly texture with soft beads of jojoba and fruit acids, which feels slippery on the touch. Highly nourishing cleanser is perfect for all of you, suffering from dry skin or dry patches. Smells like a cross between honey and crisp lemon. Again, it doesn't remove eye makeup but it's a lovely ending of the day.

Balea Mizellen Reinigungs Wasser (Micellar Water, 2-3€ for 400ml, DM stores), a cheap drugstore spin-off actually looked pretty promising. However (a big however), nothing is going smooth with this micellar water. It stings my eyes, it leaves a weird tacky residue and just doesn't remove properly my makeup in general. On the other hand, I was blown away with Balea Reinigungs Ol (Cleansing Oil, 2,60€ for 100ml, DM stores), as it's super effective and based on sunflower oil. Yay for no mineral oil! I absolutely love it and due to budget price, I might have found a good replacement for my L'Occitane Cleansing Oil. I need to repurchase ASAP.

Čudovita oljna tekstura, učinkovitost in sestavine so me prepričale. Vsekakor ponovim nakup.

Caudalie S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum (38,28€ for 30ml, online) offers hydration kick before applying your favourite moisturizer. It's lightweight in texture, almost watery, but still effective enough to add plump effect back to your skin. It's truly worth the hype but I need to wait a little longer to notice any major differences as it's a pretty new thing for me. So far, I'm having a love affair.

Melvita Rose Plumping Radiance Cream (39,60€ for 40ml, online) is truly a hidden gem among natural organic skincare. It's meant to be that perfect pick before first wrinkles at about 25+ years. Considering it contains a huge part of roses and rosehip, we can easily predict plump, radiant skin that's perfectly hydrated. I'm still pretty sceptical with natural face creams as a lot of them peels off in rolls, but this one impressed me with lovely texture, floral scent and truly visible results in terms of weeks. Skin is really looking younger and hydrated with that almost unnoticeable glow. It also wears beautifully with added makeup. Definitely staying in my skincare for some time.

Amway Artistry Hydra-V (online) is also new to the global market with a supposedly revolutionary technology of deep skin hydration. Well, honestly, I couldn't warm up to this line. Intensely venturing into natural cosmetics, I've developed a certain resistance to ''normal'' skincare formulas. It's way too siliconey and light for my personal taste. Obviously, someone is clearly liking it as the Foaming Cleanser and Hydrating Cream are pretty much used up. My mom absolutely loves it due to lightweight texture and ''watery effect''. So I believe it's up to your own personal taste and skin type. I have an extra dry skin while my mom has combination/oily skin type. If you like lightweight textures and intense cleansing, this might spark up your attention.

Pravi dokaz so verjetno že napol izpraznjene embalaže.

Curaprox Black Is White (24,90€ for 90ml + tooth brush, online) instantly caught my attention with a pretty unique concept. It's actually a pitch black toothpaste that supposedly whitens your teeth with regular use without any negative side effect. Sounds pretty interesting right? And yes, it gets my full approval. With regular use, it's easy peasy to maintain whiteness of your teeth while still drinking coffee and tea. It's not a full-on bleaching product but rather a good maintenance in-between. Also, the black tint gives an instant pearly/white effect to your teeth so they instantly look cooler/whiter. Now let me dig out that purple lipstick! The only downfall is the price so you might not want to share it with your entire family.

Obratna verzija White is Black ima le kanček bolj blagi okus.

Yummy Sexy Boost Shower Gel (4,95€ for 500ml, only in Germany/SLO) is a uni-sex scented shower buddy that truly has that somewhat sexy note to it. It has a true earthy scent along with musk, cardamom and orchid. Like a true jungle and snake basically. It's a nice change to my bathroom and the texture isn't that bad either. I believe it's a German brand so all you might not find it in your local stores.

Note samega vonja sestavljajo opojni mošus, kardamom in orhideja, kar ustvari iluzijo kače ali džungle. Yummy izdelki so brez parabenov, mineralnih olj in silikonov.

You should know Aussie Haircare by now. It's a staple with a good reason. Their shampoos and conditioners are heavily nourishing, smell like true candy lane and offer only the best from nuts and Australian inspired ingredients. They are far from being natural by all means, but if you're constantly suffering from damaged/brittle hair, this is your answer. Itchy and sensitive scalps should definitely stay away from Aussie. Did I mention the prolonged bubblegum scent? Also, Repair Miracle is a new addition to the family, while Miracle Dry Shampoo is pretty volumising, heavily scented and semi-efficient at maintaining dirty hair. My favourite Aussie line is still Miracle Moist but I'm cautious with use as I'm having troubles with my scalp here and there.

Createurs de Monoi Conditioner (7,95€ for 200ml) has a beautiful scent of Tahitian Gardenia that is usually mixed with coconut oil. In fact, this conditioner also contains Monoi de Tahiti Oil, which is used for softening skin and giving a captivating scent. Conditioner is not too heavy in texture, yet I like to use it only on my hair ends. Purely based on the scent, I might recommend it. Again, this is available only on German market.

To complete haircare story, I'm left with two oil based leave-in conditioners. Avon Advance Techniques Supreme Oils Duo Spray (4,10-7,50€ for 100ml, Avon catalouge) comes in a spray pump and transfers like a lightweight mist of oil on your hair. My perfect technique to use this, is to skip regular conditioner, and spray this before detangling my hair. It smells fantastic, almost vanillary and is consisted out of 5 different oils: almond, grape seed, macadamia, marula and camellia.
The second oil-based product is Afrodita Serum 10 in 1 (online), which has three basic layers: carrot oil, macadamia oil and panthenol. It's not as lightweight as Avon, but rather pretty sufficient at nourishing extra brittle hair ends. You only need a pump or two for all hair lengths as it's quite potent. I have nothing but good thing to say about it as it's nourishing yet not to heavy to ruin your hair volume.

New Brows for New Pastel Hair

It's difficult to find the right brow colour when you're a blond, especially if you like to experiment with different tones. Cooler spectrum of brow products is insufficiently full in drugstores and it doesn't make sense. Finding a perfect ashy, cool-toned brow product is almost mission impossible. While I'm still fairly happy with using a taupe cream shadow instead of genuine brow product for my eyebrows, I'm starting to get annoyed with washing my eyebrow brush every single time. Luckily, I've come across Bourjois Sourcil Precision Eyebrow Pencil which recently extended their colour selection with 3 new shades: 06 Blond Clair, 07 Noisette, 08 Brun Brunette. If I'm not mistaken, I believe there's already 3 other shades in their regular line, making a total of 4-6 brow shades. Now, I usually tend to choose the lightest, blondest brow pencil there is from different drugstore brands. Which wasn't the smartest idea after I've realised they all make my brows look too warm toned, yellowish and obviously fake compared to my cool toned complexion and hair. So, for a change, I went with the boldest, most cool-toned eyebrow pencil there is - 08 Brun Brunette.
SLO
Z učinkom in barvo sem sicer zadovoljna vendar mi vsakodnevno čiščenje čopiča že malo načenja potrpljenje.

Perfect fit with Bourjois Eyebrow Pencil (about 6€) in 08 Brun Brunette! It's a ashy, dark brown with lots of cool undertones. It looks a bit intimidating in pencil form but you can easily manoeuvre the intensity you'd like. Shade is pretty much versatile as I get a darker greyish brown colour which fits my natural brow hair perfectly. Also, it works wonders on naturally dark brown and black hair - a perfect example is Meteo Beauty's post here so you can compare different outcomes. Selma and I are nothing alike when it comes to brows but Brun Brunnette seems to work on both, lighter/blond and bolder/darker brows. As for the formula, Bourjois Sourcil Precision has just the right amount of stiffness and softness. It's pretty waxy but still soft enough to easily blend it with the brush on the pencil cap. Product doesn't budge, it's easy to apply and great for filling up those annoying gaps between your brows. Not to mention it's great for travelling as you don't need any additional brush, setting product or tool. I'm honestly enjoying this product without even realizing how much I've needed this in the past.

Now if you're a much bigger fan of brow mascaras, Bourjois also released Sourcil Brow Design Mascara (about 8,99-11€) in 4 different shades. One of them is 01 Transparent which is what I'm actually testing out. In general, they are great for adding some extra definition to brows yet they don't look super sharp or fake. Great for beginners and as a topper over your regular brow pencil or brow pen. Transparent brow mascara in particular servers only as a brow tamer or brow fixer. Extra bushy and thick eyebrows will definitely appreciate extra help at fixing them in the right place. Also, if you're brow products are not waterproof or wax-based, translucent brow mascaras help to restrain brow products where they were initially applied. Brush is quite skinny and easy to use while the mascara gel is quite pleasant and non-sticky. Still it manages to place everything in the right direction and hold it for the day. As I don't have any particular problems with taming my brow hair I wouldn't say it's a necessity for me personally. Bushy, wildly growing and enviously thick brows are probably the main target for translucent mascaras.

Če ste veliko večji pristaš naravnih obrvi in maskar za obrvi, je tukaj še novost Bourjois Sourcil Brow Design Mascara (okoli 8,99€) v 3 odtenkih in prozorni obliki - v Sloveniji je trenutno le prozorna verzija. Zame osebno sicer to ni ''nujen'' izdelek, ker imam dokaj redke in ukrotljive obrvi.

Bourjois brow products are a solid pick in the drugstore. I'm glad to see an ''out of the box'' cool toned brown shade which are generally lacking in drugstores. Along with Brun Brunette, 07 Noisette looks like a perfect warm brown for redheads or warmer hair colours while 06 Blond Clair might appeal to standard, yellow-toned blondes who don't want to darken their brows any further. As for Brow Mascaras I can't comment much pigmentation wise as I have transparent version but they're pretty efficient and fixing brows and other brow products in place. Another win situation with Bourjois. I'm also wearing new Bourjois Sweet Kiss Gloss in 04 Incogni-rose (super juicy and comfortable) so expect an in depth review on these beauties in the near future. Bourjois is found in all drugstores around Europe and internationally on Asos, FeelUnique.

Lush Big Shampoo

Hair soft as wool? Well, Lush Big makes it all possible: from softness, amazing texture to utterly refined root volume. If you're lusting over ultra lightweight hair with volume, search no more. Lush Big, this self-conserving, all natural shampoo is based on sea salt and lime juice. They both reduce grease the natural way and add shine while lifting roots with gritty texture. If you're fully satisfied with your natural volume on holiday, this might be your secret tube of resort all year around.

Volume is always welcomed in my book but most of drugstore products can't handle their initial promise. Having a really positive experience with sea salt spray, I've decided to roll the dice with this fairly expensive sea salt shampoo from Lush. Lush Big Shampoo (18,95€, online) is surely a pleasant addition to my hair care routine. Hair stays fresh for days, smells like a true margarita and volume keeps bouncing back. Lime juice makes hair shinier and healthy looking. What keeps it from making the cut for ''top favourite shampoo'', is tangled wet hair and issues with color treated hair. Sea salt exfoliates scalp and gives a lovely mini scalp massage but you end up with slightly tangled hair. A good hair brush and conditioner can solve this particular problem. My main complaint is based on my color treated hair perspective. Being blond, I always struggle with brassiness and yellow tones. Ever went on a holiday with freshly coloured hair? If yes, you can imagine the same thing with this little pot. Colour will fade tremendously with each wash. That's why, this is my guilty pleasure for special occasions and still maintaining fairly pearl/white like hair. Just a small warning, blonds and redheads. On the contrary, you can easily use this shampoo for removing hair colour you don't like.

My main point is that Big really does work. You get shiny hair, extra volume, revived roots, margarita scented hair and lovely texture. Keep in mind I didn't use any conditioner whatsoever on the upper picture (excuse my awkward pose). Treated hair, especially blond and red, will most likely have difficulties with maintaining hair color. For the price of 18,95€, you get a massive tube that will last at least 3 months with regular usage. You need only a pea size amount for lathering up your entire scalp. Highly recommend for an extra boost of volume and shine without any artificial chemicals or preservatives.

Ariel / Mermaid Look Vol.2

Another year with another fun ''type of Halloween/Carnival'' Event down here.
I tried to transform myself into a last minute mermaid. I already had a bunch of shells and a sea star for my hair so it was a great opportunity to re-try a turquoise-green-blue mermaid. I just wish I had a tail, lol.
I basically applied latex as my scales and tried to recreate scaled skin with a net and ''glued on'' holographic paper.
If you're wondering about the lipstick it's a mixture of Stargazer 106 Bright neon pink and Catrice Colour Bomb (or Matt about pink is pretty much the same).

I also dyed my hair with Directions Semi-permanent hair dye in Apricot and Carnation pink for a better Ariel feel.
I'm now kind of traumatised wearing a coral-orange hair, my worst color enemy but I'll try to make it work for as long as it stays on my hair (and I'm pretty much concerned about it since I layered it two times).
It's much more neon in person and my ends are a lot pinker than the rest of the hair.
Any tips for getting the color out? I've heard lemon and baking soda helps.

Please excuse my weird face movements.
My battery on camera always dies on the worst possible occasions but I wanted to show you the real intensity of hair color if you're looking for a great toner or a splash of permanent color.
Directions should have sponsored me since I talk about them so much, lol.
I usually order their color pots for 4,9€ included shipping on Ebay here.

So what do you think? I definitely prefer my previous cool toned hair but at least I know for sure orange and warm-toned reds are not for me.

FOTD with Flamingo Pastel Hair, NYX India, Etude House Palette

I already reviewed new gorgeous palette from Etude House Rose collection here.
Now it's time to show it in practise- I used Blossom, Petal, Gloomy and Poison
It's a perfect fall palette and goes well with my new hair color.
I also used infamous Nyx Black Label India lipstick which is a gorgeous light peachy shade and a touch of pink lipgloss.

Since I love playing with pastel colors on my hair I wanted to try bright flamingo peachy-pink hair.
So I bravely mixed up Directions Hair Color in Carnation Pink and Apricot (name tells a 1000 words).
I was quite generous with color amount...yet I got out only a pastel version of flamingo color.
I think I reached the highest level of tolerance for blond hair- it does stain instantly but you can't get rich longlasting pigment into bleached hair.

I like my new hair color yet I hate it.
Looks somehow cheap and brassy yet goes well with my skintone.
I think I'll give it another go after I finally visit my hairdresser- roots just don't make my life easier.
I'm curious how will I transfer back to silver.
What do you think?

Quick and Easy Mermaid Hair

I've been freakin' obsessed with mermaids lately.
You can actually find my previous mermaid inspired make-up here.
Now I even decided to put some extra color in my hair.
I'm pretty sure this has something to do with my cravings over the sea this year.

I know...you expected some major difference since I'm mention mermaids so much.
I decided to do an easy ombre effect with a bright blue-turquoise.
This little pastel chalk (2,17$ here) made it happen.
It's basically a standard hair chalk in 029 Helio turquoise.
How to use it? Wet your hair, apply it directly on the hair, blow dry to stabilise it.
It's super pigmented and appropriate for dark hair too.
It washes off with first shampooing so it's not a permanent change for those of you who are more formal.
It can stain blonde hair for an extra wash or two.
I didn't notice any staining of the clothes however don't risk with white clothing.

I got my hair chalk from Born Pretty Store for 2,17$ which is almost absurd.
You can also use a 10% off code: KGL91
This will last up for about 10-16 uses and it's available in huge amount of colors.
Rating? I have to say it's a pretty fun, nifty thing for Summer.
Born Pretty Store has also lots of amazing, affordable nail polishes- I'm already eyeing yogurt (HERE), feather (HERE) and holographic effect (HERE). They are pretty much a perfect dupe for higher end nail polishes.

Which color would you choose?

New hair color- AGAIN

Not long ago I posted pictures with my new homemade pastel violet hair HERE.
However, my roots were already peaking out (MAJOR ROOTS)
so I had to re-do my blond hair at the hair dresser.

I didn't stick to my usual ashy-blue color
but decided to try out a pink based blond and some caffee cool toned dark strands.
Dark strands were placed only in the front and on the lower hair.

I quite like the result but I'm still shocked since I'm used to pure white color.
I like the new color for fall but thank god it will wash off after a few weeks.
I'm already planning to dye my hair with Directions Carnation pink to get pastel pink color.

What's your opinion? Super white blond or a bit darker in the Fall?

NEW: Pastel lilac hair and a kitty

After visiting a professional hair-care shop I decided to make a slight change with my hair color.
I've done it all by myself and with help of my dear sister....
and changed it to PASTEL LILAC!
It's not that big of a difference since you already know I like my hair silver.
But still quite schoking for me when I look in the mirror.
Pastel hair seems to be quite known trend in Spring and Summer.

I had some major problems with yellow tones recently so the semi-permanent color didn't show up on my hair as it could.
I used well known Directions Semi permanent hair color in LILAC.
I applied it twice (1.day for 15min, 2.day for 35min) and mix it with loads of conditioner (1/3).
Not to mention my hair was feeling SOFT, SOFT, SOFT and fluuufeeh.
We'll see how it's keeping up through several washes.
I'm already waiting for my second bottle of SILVER and I'll let you know how that goes.
By the way, you can totally get Directions colors on Ebay for less than 9$.
I'm already eyeing LAVENDER (slightly warmer pink-purple) for my next attempt and VIOLET (you can save up loads of money and need the tiniest bit).

Let me introduce you to our new family member!
He's the cutest kitty in my eyes!
We always find some space for homeless cats and try to spoil them as much as we can.
He seems to be the most loving kitty we have ever had. Since day one he's really attached to human contact and he loves our black cat and dog.

Lots of love and fun,

Turning into Powerpuff girls & hair update

Long time no see right? Well I'm still in a phase of buying camera because my previous one died for good. I hope I'll post some new things around the middle of the march with lots of different pictures!
But for now...you'll have to be satisfied with this kind of phone and laptop camera quality.
Anyways, we wanted to try something new with my sis and my boyfriend so we turned ourselves  into Powerpuff girls to try out the anime eyes look. Pretty good right? Not to mention the looks of people and betting if it is makeup or just a plain paper across the eyes.

As for my hair...I cut it off and changed a bit my color. You can see the ''hair difference'' between the upper photo and the new one. I was quite schoked with the length (but I had to cut it off) and not to mention my hairdresser went a bit too pinkish this time. But I like everything that's unusual...it's in the anime spirit...AGAIN.

So what are your thought about the anime Powerpuff girls look and the new hairstyle? Let me know your preferences and thoughts!
Take care and have lots of fun!

HOW TO : make your blond hair whiter or greyish

White hair needs constant maintaining, period. It requires commitment, time, constant care and a lot of effort. There's no shortcuts, even fewer than with bright colors like orange or red. Worse. Hair is stripped down because of bleach so practically, blond hair is incapable to grip or hold color permanently (not even semi-permanently unfortunately). If you're a blond with white/grey tones, your hair will probably end up as a normal yellow blond within 3-7 washes. So my mission is to present you the most effective techniques along with shortcuts or quick solutions at home.  I'm in no way an expert for hair colouring but 8 years of solid white (or blond, grey, pastel blond) hair taught me basics and creativity at home to avoid yellow, brassy tones. Of course I have days when I just don't feel like caring about my hair colour so I let my blond hair shine through here and then (just in case you'll be seeing me with ''blond'' hair). Commitment and maintaining are the key to white and grey hair.

White,silvery blond hair
Color your hair at the hairdresser
Let us start with the basic colouring. They bleach me with 6%  bleach or mud mask and then apply the main color, which makes all the difference. Depending on your hair type, your hairdresser will automatically suggest or use matching bleach percentage - that's why I always warmly suggest blond colouring at professional saloon. Seriously, you don't need to end up like a stray puppy without any hair. I cannot stress enough that hair doesn't need to be fully bleached to achieve white colour. In fact, I'm usually yellow as a chicken at this point. It's the colour or semi-permanent colour after that's important or crucial for white/grey hair. For the main colour, I usually pick the greyest white colour with cool undertones. There are various types of white/grey colours including pink toned silver, blue toned silver, pearl toned white, purple toned silver, ash blond, ash brown....you name it. You can also ask your hairdresser to mix them up for your desired balance or try each one upon next visit. Grey/white colours are usually on for 15-25 minutes or longer for more better effect. It can also happen, that the colour will go too grey, silvery or blueish on certain people but that's the risk you're willing to take. Actually, I'm pretty sure you'll love extensive, bolder shade of hair. Color will most certainly last longer than usual. Another thing you need to know is if you want to be fully bleached. While I was fully bleached for years (upper picture), getting older, I prefer more natural version of grey hair. You can achieve natural version or avoid ''helmet effect'' with really thin highlights all over, as much as possible (lower picture). Grey colour will still make an impact but you won't look fake. Also, grey/white colour will look much more even after constant washing. Freshly bleached roots can sometime look yellow or darker than the rest of the hair. If you prefer solid, straight-up white or grey hair, go for it. If you can afford professional care each month, you're pretty much good to go since white/grey hair colours wash out within a month. In most cases, it's healthier if you bleach roots less than every 2-3 months. I personally bleach my roots every 4th month since roots are not so visible with highlights. So what to do between those 1-2 months of not having a fabulous hair colour? Read on.

EFFECTIVE METHODS FOR MAINTAINING & GETTING SILVER /GREY /WHITE HAIR

Purple Shampoo
Purple shampoos are a perfect fit for your hair routine if you have extra blond hair. They are especially designed for cooling down yellow shades. It maybe sounds absurd, but purple is all in all the opposite color of yellow. They work wonders if you know how to use them correctly. Also, I cannot stress enough about quality. Professional purple shampoos are a 100% better than drugstore alternative due to higher percentage of pigments and intensity of pigments itself. I strongly recommend investing into professional purple shampoo since they're safer, more efficient and you need only a small amount to achieve the desired intensity. I've also noticed that the darker they are, the better they work. Also, ''bluer better'' is definitely the way to go. If there's a lot more blue tones than purple, they will be more effective. You should watch over the foam that your purple shampoo creates after lathering. If the foam is purely white, it's possible that shampoo won't be as effective. Foam should be slightly purple toned, even after rinsing it off. So I suggest you choosing the darkest, the bluest purple shampoo you can find. I personally see the best results with Framesi Color Method Ultra Violet Shampoo since it's thick as a paint and has a strong blue base. After it, L'Oreal Professionnel Silver Shampoo is the best. It's widely available in saloons and also makes visible results. It has a bit more purple-toned pigments but still delivers intensly pigmented particles for white/grey hair with one use. After those two, I also like Revlon, although specifically Revlon 45 Days Shampoo & Conditioner isn't one of my favourites. From European drugstores, there is only Kemon and Swiss O-Par Silver Shampoo that are worth mentioning but they're less effective and leave streaks. For natural in-between washes I really like Lush Daddy-O Shampoo. It's not as effective but refreshes hair colour without any harsh chemicals.

There are two ways you can use purple shampoo. First off, the standard washing technique. You simply add purple shampoo to your wet hair and slightly massage it in. I find them way more effective if you don't lather it all up. The longer you'll leave purple shampoo in your hair, the better. In the mean time you can do your regular shower routine. The second method includes purple shampoo as a pre-treatment mask. Shampoo with a bit of mixed water is applied straight forward on damp or dry hair. I usually leave it on for 40-45 minutes to achieve darker grey tones. It's effective  but requires a bit of patience and time.

Coloured Conditioners & Sprays & Foams
If purple shampoo doesn't do the trick, you can still use coloured conditioners. They are way better for treating stronger brassy tones. However, good coloured conditioners are hard to find. Professional conditioners for blondes have higher prices but they work with magic. On a student budget I can't afford to spend over 30€ just for shampoo and conditioner every month. So I simply use professional purple shampoos and make my own DIY coloured conditioner at home. Again, the longer you leave them on your hair, the better the result. How to make your own purple conditioner? Simple. You can use any kind of purple/grey/black/blue colour you like. I love using Direction Semi-Permanent Conditioning Hair Colour for different hues, while black semi-permanent colour for grey tones. Normal conditioner is then mixed with a pea or spoon size of the colour, depending on your wish. Normally, I use 5:1 ratio. Keep in mind that the more colour you add in, the stronger the effect and the longer it will last. Also, colour can look more patchy if you're using less colour. Black colour in particular can make some side effects, After the grey will wash out, you'll be left with a slight hue of green or blue. Keep in mind, black is a risky business so I definitely recommend you trying purple conditioners with first try. Directions Semi-Permanent Violet will do the job and due to intensity, you will have it for at least 2 months. Also, pink hues tend to stay on your hair longer, so I usually mix purple and pink colour to get warm purple hues rather than cool toned purple. Coloured conditioner is applied as a normal hair dye on dry hair. You can totally add some water if you find consistency too thick. Leave it on for 20-60 minutes and wash it off. As a bonus, your hair will be also nourished due to conditioner itself.

Coloured purple sprays are also a no-brainer. They are effective and the last step before blow drying your hair. They can also act as a great alternative to patchy hair colour. I specifically like Revlon Equave 2 Phase Perfect Blonde Conditioner for conditioning and cooling down yellow undertones. It's great to untangle your hair and it gives extra purple reflect. The second choice is coloured foam, which can be bought in drugstores. Foams tend to look patchy if they're not applied right so the safest choice would be a coloured spray or conditioner.

Don't wash your hair every day
Okay, maybe it's not a logical step but if you try to use dry shampoo, your hair color won't be washed out so fast. Also, dry shampoo is great for white hair as some of them leave a white trace on the roots. Your roots won't be as visible and your hair will appear whiter. Washing your hair every day will make your hair fragile and not to mention a quick loss of color.
Treatments are important
Bleach can be really damaging so never ever skip the conditioner or hair mask! I use my hair masks religiously as I tend to keep my hair as normal as possible. My hair is a bit dry on the ends but nothing dramatic since I religiously use hair masks, oils and mostly professional products to keep them a bit more healthy looking. I do recommend to invest more money in hair products if you're planning to bleach your hair. My current favourites are definitely from L'Oreal Professionnel line, in particular Pro-Keratin Refill Treatment. Also, I love a lightweight leave-in multipurpose conditioner from Uniq One All in One Hair Treatment. As mentioned before, you can easily find drugstore coloured conditioners as Swiss O-Par Silver Conditioner but they won't nourish your hair as other hardcore professional treatments.

It's difficult to maintain white, grey or silver hair colour but once you achieve the basic knowledge, it will be just another weekly routine. Also, here's a closer look to my hair history and playing with different tones and DIY Coloured Conditioners. My main hair colour is cool blond, which you can always spice up with pastel semi-permanent colours like pink, purple, violet, grey and blue. While warm tones like orange are risky for losing your initial white tones, you can always stick on the safer side with cooler tones. Pink is also a really flattering and non-destructive colour for white tones. Hopefully, I will manage to make another hair post about DIY pastel hair.
