Oh The HORROR Collection from Darling Girl

Fall season is here and makeup brands are already coming out with their new Halloween collections.
Darling Girl released a new OH THE HORROR collection inspired by classic tv monsters and villains.
I have to admit, I got shivers after seeing the pigment Here's Johnny from The Shining.
I dare you to check out all Oh The Horror pigments and let me know which ones you recognize!

The Mummy- gold with purple, blue sparkles. My favorite out of the bunch!
Seven Days Later- It's a grayish teal with blue sparkles. Is it from The Ring?

Camp Blood- light gray/silver with blue and pink/red sparkles.
Heads Will Roll- almost semi-matte smokey lilac with fine blue and pink shimmer.
Here's Johnny! - Most sparkly out of them all. It's a burgundy/blackened red with loads of  pink and blue sparkles. *shivers*

Like always swatches just don't do them justice.
As you might already know Darling Girl is super affordable and ships internationally.
Samples are 4$ for 5, Petit jars are 2,5$ and Full size is 5,9$.
If you don't like pigments you should at least check their Oh The Horror collection and guess which TV monsters/villains inspired which shade.
Here is the Oh the Horror collection and here is their entire range of products.

How I store my Pigments and Depotting

I prefer pigments in jars.
I almost always depot my baggie pigments into jars.
Searching for clear container in right size can be quite a pain.
However Born Pretty has different sizes, types for less than 12-6$ and free shipping.
I usually go for set of 12 individual containers or 25 container (5 stuck together).

I usually use the 5-stack containers for mixing up lip colors with Sleek Pout Paints.
Or for similar color family pigments- in this case for lighter shades from Darling Girl.
These jars can easily fit sample baggies, mini jars or even full size eyeshadows.
It comes in a convenient box with departments which can be taken out for more space.
I usually store in the box my already ''jared'' pigments for better overview.

The 12 containers is just right up my alley - shades can be separated.
Size is a bit smaller- can held pigments out of sample or mini jar (up to half of spoon).
The box that comes with it is a bit insecure for travelling though.

DEPOT PROCESS
There's something about depotting- It's a real treat to depot an eyeshadow and get a better look at it.
Also it's much easier and cleaner to use it straight out of a jar than a baggie.

I cut off a small bit of baggie and shake the pigment out in a jar.
Then I took a toothpick and scrape everything that's left in the baggie through the opening side.
Can get a bit messy but less than through the opening side.
In this case I used Luxe from Darling Girl.

You can tell there's a lot of product for a sample bag.
You can easily get more than 12 uses out of it.
Frankly I doubt I would use the shade as often if I left it in the bag.

I also take off the sticker and place it wherever I can.

You can get 25 containers for about 12$ HERE.
The individual 12 jars are 6$ HERE.
I highly recommend these jars if you're looking for anything similar.
You can store nail accessorises, pigments, depotted lippies, blushes, samples, foundations.
I might take a stack of foundations with me when I go travelling.
You can use 10% code in Born Pretty store.

Galactic Mermaid - Darling Girl Persuasion

Since I'm one of Glamour Girls (HERE) I can do a Pick of the Week (POTW) for Darling Girl store.
I can choose whatever product from DG and goes on 20% off sale for all.
Shipping is worldwide and varies from 3$ (in baggies) to 8$ (in jars).
You can get my pick for 20% off HERE.

For my first round I picked out Persuasion- my first true love.
It's a MUST if you love eyeshadows!
This eyeshadow made me interested in Darling Girl and duochrome eyeshadows.
Persuasion is a lilac/purple with gold/green shimmer depending on the light.
It's vibrant color but golden shimmer make it wearable even on a casual day.

I use all my pigments with a sticky base since they can fall off easily.
The best base in my opinion is Darling Girl Superstar Serum (great for making liners as well) and Fryinnae Pixie Epoxy. NYX Jumbo Eye pencil- Milk does a good job too.
Highly suggest applying loose shadows with fingers on bigger surface - unpractical but with more color payoff.

Rest of the PRODUCTS

Darling Girl Kiss You Off Lip Balm Daphne

I was sooooo impressed by Darling Girl eyeshadows that I wanted to try out also their lip range.
I got myself a sample of Kiss You Off Lip balm in Daphne.
You already know I'm a lipstick freak - especially for purples and pinks.

The texture of Kiss You Off is similar to regular lip balm- a bit hard but melts with skin contact.
It's easy to apply and you can wear it on your ''not so great lip day''.
Doesn't enhance flaws and comes in a lip balm tube (mine is only a sample).
Basically it's: ''Kiss You Off: Color Rich Lip Balms have all the color and pigmentation of a lipstick, varying from sheer to completely opaque, but are made with skin-loving moisturising ingredients.''

Daphne is a bright fuchsia pink with blue sheen.
You can spot blue shimmer but it's definitely not over the top.
Gives a nice shiny effect with blue undertones but doesn't look frosty.
Pigmentation is really up to standards of a lipstick.

Color is similar to Sleek Amped/Mac Viva Glam Gaga yet with a different touch.
Unfortunately this color currently isn't in the store- Susan always updates store.
I would suggest to check out other Kiss You Off - especially Stay Beautiful (HERE).
Longevity: stays on for hours and leaves a tint to the lips- SCORE!
The ingredients are also quite impressive.

Kiss You Off are super affordable lip balms with nice pigmentation of a lipstick and afterwards stain.
It will cost 5,25$ for 0.07 oz. on Darling Girl HERE.
If you're a blogger you can also get 5 samples for 1$  HERE and try them yourself.

PROS (+): leaves a stain, pigmentation, moisturises, longevity, unique colors, price
CONS (-): color selection
Rating: B+

What's your favourite lip color? Which shades would you like to see in the Darling Girl range?

1st experience with Indie make up: Darling Girl

I'm in LOVE.
Since the first order - there's no way back to regular make up routine.
My first experience with Darling Girl just blew me away.
Regular (and expensive) eye shadows and blushes seem plain comparing them to DG.
Susan (owner) of the DG- welcomed me to their group of amazing Glamour girls (check HERE).
All girls are super friendly and artistic- highly suggest to check out their blogs too.
My order went straight ahead to the shiny, duochrome shades- Darling Girl masters duochromes!

Susan suggested me Tin Man - a silvery shade with strong green flash and pink shimmers.
I wish I could capture this beauty- shimmers and glitters are not camera friendly ( try it yourself! ).
I was so intrigued by this shade I even took time to photograph my look with it - I can be preeeeety lazy about that.
I'm already on my 2nd order and can't get enough of their eyeshadows and blushes.
Did I mention I'm also wearing Darling Girl Blushing Heart blush - wine pink with golden specks.
Blush stayed on me the entire day - CRAZY!
I experienced that only with Tarte.

From my heart- I warmly suggest you to check out Indie brands.
I was always underestimating them cuz' of the look and loose pigments.
Boy, I was wrong. Their make-up quality is even better than majority of high-end brands.
There's no manipulation- you're just paying for good quality products made with heart and amazing prices.
Darling Girl has every week Color of the Week (COTW) chosen by Glamour Girls and 20% off that shade.
You can check Darling Girl HERE and say hello to sweet Susan!
Bloggers can also get a We Love Blogger pack (for 1$) HERE with 4 sample baggies and a lip color!
