Soap&Glory Solar Powder

I might start to annoy you, but my love for Soap&Glory is true. Next up on my blog list is Solar Powder, a mix&match multishade bronzer as brand itself calls it. Testing a bronzer is quite a task in my book. Since I'm usually relying on my trusty blushes, I'm just not intrigued by bronzers. On top of all, my fair skin tone makes entire bronzer experience even more difficult. I can look muddy or too brown in my face in no time. Now let us see if Solar Powder makes the cut.

What makes me intrigued by Solar Powder is the ability to mix up your own bronzer shade. In my case, I opt for the lightest shade possible. With this bronzer, you can adjust intensity even by seasons. You might know the drill when your lightest bronzer doesn't preform as beautifully in Summer. Not that I get tanned or anything, but I would imagine it being a perfect gimmicky thing for most girls. Darker skin tones could use the lighter shade as a golden highlighter too. Texture is superb as I expect from Soap & Glory. Almost no fall-out, highly pigmented and easy to use. Cardboard packaging is usually a no-no, but seems sturdy enough to handle a travel or two.

The greatest glow on earth? Perhaps, if we don't take it too literally. Bronzer has an duochrome overspray that gets used up after first application. After that, darker side is totally matte, while lighter side offer a tiny glimpse of shimmer. When everything is mixed together, you get a balanced amount of both worlds - matte enough for all over application and shimmery enough to use as a blush. It's definitely not too shimmery, so you can use it as a contour powder if that's your thing. If we look at the color, it's pretty straight forward warm shade but still workable for lighter skin tones. 

I would actually recommend this bronzer to all of you, who tan really easily in the Summer. This way you'll save up some money with this 2-in-1 mixing bronzer. In case of pale complexions, you can find better, lighter bronzers with less warm tones. It's not my first bronzer pick, however strongly standing third in the row.

Soap & Glory Lid Stuff - What's Nude Quad Review

I've not tried a single thing from Soap&Glory, that I wouldn't like. I adore their scents and like their body products, but what left me speechless is their entire makeup line. They are basically exceptional. Founder of Soap&Glory is Marcia Kilgore, who has amazing knowledge about cosmetics and is also a founder of Bliss spa. Although packaging wasn't my favorite at first, it kind of grew on me with adorable pin-up style. I can confidently proclaim Soap&Glory as my favourite UK brand.

 I only hope they will expand their offer through entire Europe...and soon!

Soap & Glory Lid Stuff in What's Nude is a beautiful neutral palette with 3 matte shades and one eye catching, shimmery taupe. Pigmentation is out of this world - creamy yet with no fallout. I can't even recall the last time I tried so creamy matte shades that don't crumble. Creating an eye look with this beauty gem is easy peasy but with flawless finish. Longevity brings outstanding 8 hours without fading. Lid Stuff is definitely a true staple in my stash, I would repurchase it in a heartbeat. Packaging and size of the pans is spot on similar to Mac. I would be thrilled to see them popping out as magnetic pans but they are unfortunately, glued in. They are a lovely basic addition to any eyeshadow or palette. Palette is sturdy enough for travelling.

I can't think of any better color sheme for pale complexions. Vanilla is a lovely matte ivory that's light enough to highlight even the fairest complexions. It might be similar to Mac Blanc Type. Pink T is a perfect transition dusty rose with matte finish. I would compare it to Mac Malt. Mudhoney on the other hand, is a creamy neutral brown. Makes me think of Mac Cork. Aubersheen is a neutral taupe, similar to Mac Satin Taupe.

 They are all highly pigmented, creamy and without any fallout - pure perfection.

Now the biggest question is: Where to buy? I suggest you to check out their official online store (GER, US, CAN, UK), Ebay and Boots (UK only). Also, Soap & Glory added a new Perfect Ten palette (here), do I need to squeal?!  It contains all of the described colors without Mudhoney. For 11€ this is a fabulous quad that I highly recommend to everyone.

 Since Soap & Glory makeup is hard to come by outside the UK, I suggest you to look through Ebay sellers (international here but ask for shipping costs) or make a fun swap with UK bloggers. I'm sure some of the girls are dying to try out Catrice.

Mail love, Darling girl cosmetics and update

This week I was surprised by Hailey (blog HERE) with her adorable package.

She managed to snap a Topshop highlighter Crescent moon upon my request.

Not to mention added generous amount of Soap& Glory products.

I didn't try any of the Soap& Glory body products until now- thank you soo much, Hailey!

Even my cat got really curious and excited seeing new stuff so I let her play with some bits and baggies.

Cats can go mad with bags!

On the other hand- I became a Glamour girl for Darling girl cosmetics!

I'm in a great team of really friendly girls and the amazing store owner Susan.

It's that time of the year when we celebrate a Slovenian tradition similar to Halloween.

You can transform in anything you want. I'm already have an idea but won't tell what- you'll see for yourself in my next post.

Fall colors in make-up

Fall is my favorite season...just because of stronger make-up, sweaters, cozy jackets and drinking tea. I also love colorful leaves, eating chestnuts and other fall fruits & nuts.

Anyways, as I mention above, I like to experiment with darker colors on eyes, cheeks and lips. I tend to use a bit more coverage than usually and try to cover up some of my freckles (which is only possible in fall and winter).

Here are my picks for the fall!

CHEEKS

I picked up 3 shades, which I wore and will wear mostly through these months. 

- A light purple-pink color for baby doll cheeks - Essence Cute as hell blush (LE)

This one is really pigmented...I need only a swipe on my light skin. It looks a bit more warmer, once it's blended into the cheeks but still gives the illusion of being ''out and about''.

- A neutral-rose color for neutral cheeks - MAC Tenderling blush

Neutral colors can go together with any smokey, colorful look on the eyes. It's a lovely mix of nude shades and bronze.

- A peachy shade for warm cheeks- Alverde 01 Apricot 

 Peach shades compliment yellow-toned skintones and make your face look a bit more alive and warm.

EYES

In autumn I like to wear rich browns, greens ( I usually skip in other seasons), greys and dark/light purples. The Urban Decay Naked palette is perfect to create some of the smokey looks but I'm guessing you're all sick of it. So I found some other colors in my stash, which can be perfect for a fall touch on the eyes.

- Wet n wild palette- Cool as a cucumber  with really dark forest green and plum purple.

Their shadows are really pigmented and easy to work with. Not to mention a low price for a good value.

- Catrice eyeshadow in Yes, you tan (from Bohemia range) in a really rich chocolate color with glitters (which doesn't show up on the skin btw).

Similar colors from their regular range are My first copperware party (which is almost the same as MAC Satin taupe but a bit more warm) and Go,Charlie Brown (dark matte brown) .

- Barry M Dazzle dust in 88 is a mid-purple color with colorful particles.

It's a bit difficult to work with pigments and loose eyeshadows, but these Dazzle dusts are really something special in person.

LIPS

Lipstick colors go from dark vampire-a-like purple colors to more subtle mauve colors.

- Catrice Ultimate colour in 160( Tell me a Berry-tale)

- Barry M  in 73 (Mulberry)

- Maybelline in 173( Windsor rose) 

- Rimmel Lasting finish in 070(Airy fairy)

- NYX Round lipstick in Tea rose

- Revlon Matte lipstick in 003 (Mauve it over)

And last but not least..the lipgloss: Essence Stay with me in Berry me

FRAGRANCE

I love fruity and sweet scents like Escada has but sometimes I like to experiment with oriental scents. Fall is perfect timing to try out spicy and sweet scents.

- Paco Rabanne Black XS: This one definitely smells a bit more woody with vanilla and some flower scents. I'm not really good at describing scents, so here are notes in the perfume.

Top notes: Cranberry, Pink pepper

Middle notes: Cocoa, Black violet, Rose

Base notes: Patchouli, Massoia wood

- Eau de Soap & Glory Perfume spray: I'm not entirely sure about this one, it's not my favorite but I do wear it in this time of year. Smells like a traditional soap with wood,vanilla and oriental flowers. Reminds me on  Lush's Sex bomb or the Joy of jelly.

 It claims that the smell is the same as the Mist you madly from their mist range,but I do prefer Girligo scent.

As for the nails...lately I've been enjoying the combination of dark colors and chain stickers. On the picture is Manhattan Spice up your nails 610K and the sticker chains from the same collection.
