It's been several times when I started writing this blog post but stopped somewhere in the middle. Why? There's several reasons why. It's an usual thing in my case. Women. First of all, I feel I've said enough about Mon Guerlain in my previous post. It's so spectacular you need to try it on your own. The original Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum is sensual and feminine but still fierce and spicy upon discovering new layers of modern women. Second of all, there's a brand new Mon Guerlain Eau de Toilette on the market and I rather wouldn't redirect the spotlight on young Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum Florale. It's not fair but it must be done on behalf of my signature summer Eau de Parfum.

Although I'm pretty obsessed with their Meteorites line, I'm really glad to see Guerlain putting attention to younger audience. For that reason, they released a new makeup line La Petite Robe Noire, called after their successful line of La Petite Robe Noire perfume. La Petite Robe Noire or so-called ''little black dress'' is a must in your makeup and perfume wardrobe to charm through your way. It's simple, elegant yet trendy in every season and year.

Kar nekaj časa bi lahko Guerlain hiši pripisali snobovstvo, vendar se že nekaj časa odlično približuje tudi mlajši publiki. Nakar je mojo pozornost pritegnila še sveža kolekcija ličil, poimenovana po La Petite Robe Noire parfumski klasiki. Kakor sam parfum La Petite Robe Noire ali ''mala črna oblekica'', tudi linija ličil tokrat cilja na malce mlajšo, vendar danes bolj zahtevno publiko. Linija je vsekakor preprosta kot mala črna oblekica, a hkrati dovolj posebna, da uroči brez posebnega truda.

Along with trendy new design, shiny looks and adorable details, La Petite Robe Noire Deliciously Shiny Lipstick (about 25€ for 2,8g in luxury beauty shops; 20 colours) is also pretty affordable for young audience. Not only, that all 20 colours are super trendy, but they're also sweetly scented and taste like sugar. For real. La petite Robe noire Lipsticks have in fact an essence from stevia, which makes these lipsticks desirable and guilt-free. Basically, candy in a lipstick form. Formula is perfect for layering - a hybrid between nourishing lip balm and lipstick. Fine oils make your lips super juicy and irresistible to kiss. The more you layer, the more intensity you get. For a natural look, apply only 1-2 coats but I like to multi-layer my 002 Pink Tie for full intensity. 002 Pink Tie is in fact, a cool toned pink with striking punch to it. As it's such a bright colour, it also evenly stains your lips for more prolonged look. I shouldn't forget to mention My First Lipstick, a sheer shimmery light pink, perfect for all, who are afraid of colour.

Poleg nove podobe, ljubkih srčkov in minimalističnega videza, La Petite Robe Noire Deliciously Shiny Šminke (okoli 25€ v Muller poslovalnicah, 20 odtenkov) niso najdražja zadeva na svetu. Dejansko so cene za Guerlain presenetljivo ugodne, hkrati pa 20 odtenkov poskrbi za neomejeno izbiro pri mladih damah. Povrhu vsega, šminke še dejansko dišijo kot sladki bonbončki, v kombinaciji z izvlečkom stevije, pa presenetijo vas in vašega ljubljenega. Šminke so namreč lahkotno sladke, obenem pa imajo zelo mazljivo formulo, ki spominja na obarvane balzame. Bolj kot se šminka sloji, lepša in intenzivnejša je barva. Od naravnega videza lahko v minuti preskočite v večerni izgled le z eno šminko. Jaz najraje slojim moj odtenek 002 Pink Tie kar čez dan, saj daje ustnicam poln in sijoč izgled. Formula je prijetna, barva pa čudovita hladno roza. Pink Tie pusti tudi dolgotrajen ''stain'' učinek, ki počasi zbledi po nekaj urah. Svetle barve po dolgotrajnosti niso najboljše, vsekakor pa ne pozabite pogledati odtenka My First Lipstick, če se s šminkami šele spoznavate.

Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Nail Polish (about 20€ in luxury beauty shops; 8 colours) are lightly scented with floral fragrance, similar to their classic Le Petite Robe Noire scent. It's pretty light and almost indetectable. What amazes me the most, is their shiny and polished finish on my nails. They are opaque with 2 layers, which makes 007 Black Perfecto even more captivating and deep. Oh no, it's not your standard ''little black'' nail polish, but rather a black based beauty with red-purple shimmer. Perfecto indeed. I also don't have any complaints about longevity as it usually stays on for 3-5 days at least. Depending on the light, red shimmer is subtle but still visible.

Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lak za nohte (okoli 20€ v Muller poslovalnicah, 8 odtenkov) je prav tako odišavljen z diskretno cvetlično-sladko dišavo, ki je osebno ne zaznam dovolj dobro. Kljub temu, me je pri laku pritegnilo nekaj drugega. Namreč, laki se zaključijo z visokim sijajem na nohtih. Po 2 slojih, ko je barva popolnoma prekrivna, se zazna prava vrhunskost te linije. Lak je sijoč, obenem pa zdrži na mojih nohtih okoli 3-5 dni. Izbran odtenek 007 Black Perfecto je zame najbolj edinstven odtenek v kolekciji. Je namreč čudovit črn lak z rdečo-vijoličnimi lesketajočimi delci. Subtilen a hkrati unikaten, čisto odvisno od trenutka svetlobe.

I can't hide my excitement over these fairly newly launched goodies from Guerlain. Nobody can resist sweetly classy design, while the product itself doesn't disappoint either. La Petite Robe Noire Makeup collection is a solid piece in endless Guerlain line, while they're still reachable in price to young girls and women. Scent, formula and outstanding look will charm for sure. As a lipstick addict, I cannot express my love towards their Deliciously Shiny Lipsticks. Just be sure to pick out the right colour for your taste - it's a hard task to really inspect all 20 shades.

Ne morem skriti navdušenja nad novo Guerlain linijo ličil in tudi ne bom. Zame ena izmed najlepših kolekcij tega leta, saj združuje elegantno s preprostim in ljubkim. Kdo se lahko upre šminkam, ki imajo na koncu dodano prozorno srce? Kot velika oboževalka in raziskovalka šmink, so mi Deliciously Shiny Šminke najljubši kos nove pridobitve Guerlain. Kljub slovitemu imenu, so še vedno prijazne do denarnice in vaših čutnic. Tako lep kos kozmetike je vreden vsakega centa, pa četudi bi služil le kot okras (kar se dejansko ni zgodilo). Edini problem bi bila mogoče tekstura, saj vsem mladim damam ne odgovarja bleščeč zaključek. Kar pa je najtežje, je izbrati en sam odtenek izmed vseh 20 na voljo. Kot omenjeno, Guerlain lahko najdete v vseh večjih kozmetičnih trgovinah kot so Muller in Nama.

High End Makeup Worth Your Money

High end makeup can cost an arm or a leg, especially if you're only a student or yet to be fully employed, working girl. Still, if you crave a pretty thing now and then, it's totally fine and you should be 100% happy with your newly picked makeup product at such a high price. Here's where I come around with my high end experiences - giving you some high end suggestions that are totally worth your hard earned money. I've only included categories in which I most certainly trust in - I have yet to discover perfect high end foundations or bronzers that are worth that extra splurge.

BRUSHES

Let's start with basics, brushes are definitely the best category to invest in some extra money. Good quality brushes will last for ages or a lifetime if you're maintaining them carefully and properly. Sigma is still my number one brush brand to relay upon as their brushes never disappoint with quality and high performance. I've been owning their Essential Kit (160$) for years now and my brushes are still spotless and beautiful as the first day. Extravaganza Face Kit 18K Gold (119,70$, quick look here) is a luxury version of normal Sigma sets but totally worth the investment on a long run. Still, I think beginners would be probably totally satisfied with their SigmaTech Essential Brush Set (122$, review here) as it's pretty affordable yet has the needed essential brushes for everyday. 3DHD line is perfect for effortless buffing of your liquid foundation and no wonder 3DHD Kabuki (24$) is crowned as Best Brush for 2015. I also recommend buying Sigma brushes when there's a special event or deal to get more out of your money. Monthly codes for 10% off (for October is SIGMAPINK) are also always updated.

CONCEALER

If we continue with base products, Clarins Instant Concealer (around  25€, Clarins counters) is an essential you won't regret. Generous amount of 15ml will last you for months with regular use. Formula offers medium coverage while the texture is so refined you can easily cover your under eye circles or larger areas with imperfections. No wonder it's a European classic and a serious Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer competitor with a lighter coverage. It comes in 4 different shades with different undertones to cover and revive tired eyes. Number 01 matches even the lightest skintypes. 

POWDER

Ah yes, the unbeatable and cult classic Guerlain Meteorites (around 50€, Guerlain counters). For some time, before even testing them out, Meteorites was just a pretty little collection of rainbow pearls for face. Trying them out, I've converted into a true Meteorites fan with rainbow pearl madness. It's true, classic Meteorites cost an arm and a leg together at about 50€ but rainbow pearls will probably last you for years at 25g amount. I'm no where near finishing my Meteorites even though they already updated their design and reformulated the product. It gives a glorious but subtle illuminating finish but also manages to prolong your foundation wear. It's a perfect fit for dry skin that looks dull and needs uplifting colour correction. On the other hand, Meteorites Compact (about 50€, Guerlain counters, review here) is definitely suitable for all skintypes as it manages to perfect skin texture and delicately mattifies for an airbrushed effect. They both are 100% worth the splurge, though Compact has only 7g which could be a huge downfall, and they both smell like violets. Basically, if you're rich or price doesn't matter to you, Compact Meteorites is the best powder on the beauty market. While original Meteorites have the best value for money and they're pretty illuminating and perfecting as well.

BLUSH

Packaging is a huge factor to notice a high end brand. While I utterly enjoy the luxurious packaging of YSL or Guerlain, Benefit (about 35€ a piece, Asos) is really good at concept ideas and unique shades of blushers. Benefit is the only blush brand with several shades in my blush collection. They look cute, every blush has a different scent and they perform with excellence. My favourites are Rockateur and Coralista but enjoy every single colour on it's own. I also owned Sugarbomb and Hoola but they weren't the best choice for my fair skintype. I admit, they are pretty addictive once you start collecting them. Coralista, Dandelion, Bella Bamba were reviewed here and Rockateur here.

EYESHADOW

I have only one single eyeshadow brand to mention. Burberry is hands down, the one and only when it comes to single eyeshadows. The texture of Burberry Eyeshadow (about 31€, FeelUnique) is perfectly buttery, highly pigmented with diverse colour range. All shades are unique and gorgeous for enhancing natural beauty of your eyes. I'm more than happy with my Pale Barley as it's a one of a kind camel shade with distinct, subtle shimmer. Worth every cent. More in depth review is here. Keep in mind that their quad eyeshadows supposedly don't have the same quality. 

Palette selection is much more wider in high end department. I have two brands to point out that are not necessarily high end brand but their palettes do come to around 50-58€ a piece, which is a lot if we put the total value of their eyeshadows on the side. My two total winners are Too Faced Chocolate Bar (57,90€, BeautyBay) palettes, they are absolutely superb despite funky design and concept. Shades are buttery smooth, highly pigmented and they smell like legit vanilla cocoa. An array of neutrals is just perfect and they both have a selection of mattes, shimmers and glitter shades. Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar is a more warm toned mix while original Chocolate Bar is heavy on burgundy shades and classic brown mattes.

This will not come as a surprise, but I also adore my Urban Decay Naked palettes (31,51€ for Naked Basics & 52€ for Naked palettes, FeelUnique). Naked, Naked 2, Naked 3 are an absolute must have. Naked Basics and Naked2 Basics, complimentary mattes, are also much more handy as you would thought in the first place. First and original Naked is full of basic bronze, matte browns and smokey shades. Quality and pigmentation is the best in the original. Naked 2 is on the other hand much more cooler, complex and unique. Naked 3 is a rose gold twist with an array of pinks, golds and coppers. Due to flattering hues, it's my favourite out of the bunch, but keep in mind that it has some sparkly shades with fallout. Naked Basics in particular has a mix of most useful matte shades, while Naked2 Basics has less intense mattes for shadow blending.

LIP PRODUCT

It's hard for me to pick out only one high end brand of lipsticks as I strive to try as many different brands as possible. But I had to point out my current favourite high end lipstick brand, it's probably Dior. Their textures and formulas are unbeatable and truly unique to the market. They are usually in the front line when it comes to new formulas and inventions. A solid pick are Dior Fluid Sticks (35€, Dior counters & online) and always intriguing, multitasking Cheek & Lip Tint (37€, Dior counters & online). Dior Addict (36€, Dior counters & online) and Addict Extreme (32€, Dior counters & online) also have a pleasant, comfortable texture with wide shade selection. Rouge Dior (36€, Dior counters & online) is a classic pick for a bolder shade and fully opaque color. My personal colour favourite is 786 Mysterious Mauve (review here), a unique buildable purple with blue sheen. Dior colour selection is out of this world and I'm pretty sure you'll find a perfect formula and shade at their counter.

Hope this post was helpful to you in any way. I'm especially pleased with Guerlain powders as they make all the difference to your face, while Clarins Instant Concealer is a pretty sweet deal at 15ml. Urban Decay and Too Faced palettes are already classics that shouldn't be missed out and they are all a good value for your money. Sigma brushes won't disappoint and will last a lifetime with good care. Not to be mistaken, these are not my only high end bits but rather products that are truly worth the extra mention. Who knows, maybe I'll do part 2 if this post turns out to be a successful one.

Can't Stop Using...

Yes, I'm pretty much obsessed with these products.

I have loads of products to use and test yet I can't un-attach from my current favourite blush, powder, lip products and bases.

I'm pretty much stuck with them and can't rotate them with new and old products.

You makeup hoarder out there know what I mean, right?

It's hard to explain but usually I rotate my products on 2 week basis just to start loving old and new makeup stuff.

These held up in my ''everyday drawer'' (or handbag) for over 2 weeks or more, which is quite an accomplishment.

Guerlain Meteorite Compact Powder - Escentual

I already reviewed this baby here and said I love the final result on the skin. Now, comparing it to my loose Meteorites, this is absolutely much better. It perfects the skin and leaves a velvety finish on the skin. No other powder makes my skin so smooth and beautiful over any foundation. Definitely worth of splurge (if you find it on sale) but I think they re-packaged it into a golden compact.

Urban Decay Primer Potion Eden - LookFantastic

It's a perfect yellow base for my light skintone. It's not too orange or dark yet it covers my veins and blue undertone. Doesn't crease and you need only a tiny amount for lovely coverage. Imagine it as a concealer/foundation for your eyelids.

L'oreal Lumi Magique Base

Ever since I've heard nothing but good things about this base from Mateja's Beauty Blog, I had my eye on. Being honest, it never impressed me by swatching it on the hand in the store but there's a totally different story when you apply it on your face. It's quite weird that it doesn't show up on the hand under artificial light...I could say it's really similar to Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector but a bit more runny and subtle.

ELF Eyebrow Kit in Ash - BeautyJoint

I didn't have high expectations for Elf because I was already dissapointed by this brand. But I love the colored wax part and the powder isn't bad either (still a bit crumbly). It's a quick fix for brows if you're in a hurry.

Benefit Rockateur Box Blush - Benefit Cosmetics

Ah, can't stop using this either! It's a lovely nude-rose-bronze shade that compliments fair skintone. I can't let go of it and switch to another blush. It's just perfect. Review coming soon.

Revlon Parfumerie Nail Polish Ginger Melon

I'm really impressed by these little cute guys! They stay on my nails for 3-5 days which is practically a miracle AND they smell lovely. This particular shade smells like fruity candy or Skittles. Shade is a bright pink with a hint of coral. I want more and already treated myself to Autumn Spice.

Catrice Iridescent Topper 

This is basically a liquid shimmer for topping off over normal eyeshadows. Surprisingly this is quite liquidy but dries up in seconds and doesn't crease or ruin normal eyeshadow application. Definitely pick up this gorgeous shimmers with rose gold hue from Catrice LE Haute Future. It's about 4,5€.

Missha Glow Tint Lipbalm CR01 - BeautyNetKorea

Lip Glows are my new obsession so Missha caught me with it's name. This range is actually the opposite what I expected. They are creamy, pigmented but still kind of...translucent for more of a natural feel. This particular shade is a lovely mix of coral, peach, pastel pink that suits even pink skintones. Korean products have in general quite a nice selection of orange shades for fair skintone.

Secret Key Sweet Glam Tint Glow - KoreaDepart

A perfect Dior Lip Glow dupe! Even the packaging is a total rip-off if we don't consider actual materials. And I love the product itself too, leaves a lovely pink stain that can be build up. It's way more intense from Dior but still a similar point of view. They even have a coral version to match the new Dior Spring 2014 collection. Worth checking out!

NYX Butter Lipglosses - Peaches & Cream and Apple Strudel - BeautyJoint

Ever since I've heard these are a cheaper alternative to Clarins Lip Perfector (which I adore!) I knew I had to buy them. Not totally sure if they perfect lips but they definitely have a cake-like smell (not so strong though), smooth texture and lovely bright shades. They are indeed quite pigmented, depending on the shade. Now I want all of them.

So, what's your recent must-have? Any recommendations based on my picks? 

Guerlain Meteorites Compact Powder Review

 I got super excited when a local beauty store lowered all her products for 50%.

Unfortunately the store is closing - means even less variety for Slovenian readers.

So why not - I snapped a few of higher-end products including Guerlain Meteorites Compact powder.

If I'm honest I got this product purely because of their famous meteorites for glowy finish and the gorgeous packaging. Meteorites were sadly unavailable so I was satisfied with the compact version.

Keep in mind I have dry skin and I'm always on a hunt for powders that are far away from matte.

COVERAGE

Coverage is light. It's a really unique texture- transparent yet it gives a bit of coverage. Those looking for high coverage powders won't be impressed. However I'm pretty happy with the slight coverage and transparency in one. It covers my freckles to the point they are still visible, yet smoother looking.

FINISH

Illuminating and mattifying as it promises. It's not too flat looking on my dry skin, yet it blots away any shine in T-zone. Suitable for normal, dry and oily skin. I have to admit I'm really impressed with such an ability. In addition it hides all imperfections like enlarged pores, smaller acne and any dry bits. 

APPLICATION

Goes on gorgeously with the puff and the brush. Puff gives more coverage and hides imperfections including pores. Brush application gives light dusting and transparency.

COLOR

I got 01 Teint Rose which is the lightest shade with pink undertones. It's a perfect match for my really fair skin. People with light-medium skin tone could also use this since it's so versatile in finish.

SMELL

Smells like typical Guerlain product - violets with powdery undertones. The scent is quite strong so you won't like it if you're sensitive to scents. I usually hate floral scents but this one makes me fell kind of happy?

PACKAGING

Comes in a velvet pouch which is a first timer for me. The packaging is plastic and light - great for travelling. However it doesn't feel cheap at all. The included puff is okay but nothing extraordinary.

DIFFERENCES FROM NORMAL POWDERS

For a full price at about 55€ for 7g it is difficult to point out extreme differences. If you want to invest in a good powder that's illuminating and mattifying - GET IT. If you already love the normal meteorites and you need a travel version- GET IT. If you're searching for an illuminating, moisture-type powder you can easily get them from various Korean brands for fraction of the price. If you're lusting over any Guerlain powders just pick up the normal-ball meteorites since you get way much product and will last for decades.

OVERALL

I would buy it again for the fraction of the price. However I don't see myself picking it up for full price in the future. But it did make me curious about normal Meteorites - I would love to have a cute box of colorful pearls with such a great luminosity.

PROS: smell, texture, coverage, luxurious feeling of the packaging, easy application, non-powdery finish

CONS: expensive, small amount
