Shiseido Overtakes Europe (& Slovenia): New Products & Event

Why is Shiseido so successful in Europe, compared to other Japanese brands (Kanebo, Jill Stuart...)? This was my main question that was chased in my head and I still don't know the secret ingredients to it. The fact is, that Shiseido is almost the only brand from Japan that is solidly sold on entire European market, or at least in Slovenia.  Global marketing strategy and technology beyond belief are the main characters of this successful brand. And you know I'm a sucker for anything Korean or Japanese. While I'm firmly attached to Korean makeup trends, Japanese cosmetic brands are known for highly developed technology and outstanding formulas. Shiseido is definitely not an exception as the last year's Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate owned European market with several prizes, top selling rank in Sephora and more. This time around, the main highlight of the Shiseido Event was first perfume from the brand - Shiseido Ever Bloom. Along with the main star, I've also discovered some new skincare gems and Fall makeup.

Zakaj je Shiseido tako uspešen v Evropi, kljub visoki konkurenci japonskih znamk (Kanebo, Jill Stuart...)? To je bilo glavno vprašanje, ki mi je rojilo po glavi še nekaj čaka po predstavitvi Shiseido novosti. Še vedno razmišljam o glavnih sestavinah za takšen uspeh na evropskih policah, vendar je zagotovo le to, da je Shiseido edina japonska znamka ki se stabilno prodaja na slovenskem tržišču. In če spremljate moj blog, že verjetno poznate mojo ljubezen do korejskih in japonskih kozmetičnih produktov. Globalna strategija velike znamke in neverjetno inovativna tehnologija sta tudi oprijemljivi lastnosti Shiseida za uspeh. Medtem ko se obračam na Južno Korejo po najnovejše trende v ličilih, je japonska kozmetika vsekakor poznana po visoki tehnologiji in občudovanja vrednih teksturah ter kvaliteti. Shiseido ni izjema saj je lanskoletni izum Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate pobrisal s konkurenco ter zavzel evropsko tržišče z več nagradami, uvrstitvijo med najbolj prodajane izdelke v Sephori in še bi lahko naštevala. Tokrat je na letošnji predstavitvi bil v soju luči čisto novi parfum znamke Shiseido. Vključno z glavno zvezdo dogodka Shiseido Ever Bloom pa so tukaj še ostali novi negovalni biseri ter jesensko obarvana kolekcija ličil.



Shiseido Ever Bloom, as the main floral star, is described as subtle yet with a memorable presence. The scent itself is non-invasive and kind for all generations of women. Still, it's quite floral with a base note of camellia. Ever Bloom is full of contrasts, rough yet gentle curves on the bottle or border scent of delicacy and power. Notes are based on white flowers as the center notes are orange blossom and gardenia, while top notes are lotus, jasmine and rose. It dries down to hinoki wood and musk. Definitely a universally likable scent that doesn't change scent with time. It's not my personal favourite but I can totally see it being popular among those, who prefer white floral scents. Along with perfume, there's also a shower gel, lotion and body cream for extending perfume longevity.

Shiseido Ever Bloom kot glavna parfumska zvezda očara s subtilno a nepozabno prisotnostjo. Sam vonj je neinvaziven in primeren za vse starosti žensk. Kljub temu moram poudariti, da je vonj dokaj cvetličen in navdihnjen po cvetoči kameliji. Ever Bloom je po Shiseidovih besedah poln kontrastov, od ostrih kotov do nežne izbočenosti na steklenički. Prav tako vonj meji med občutljivostjo in močjo prave ženske. Note so bazirane na belih cvetlicah kar doprinese svežino. Glavne note so tako cvet pomarančevca, gardenia, lotus, jasmin, lesne note hinoki, mošus in vrtnica. Vse komponente so združene v linearno stukturo namesto tipične piramidne strukture, kar omogoči da se vonj ne spreminja na koži s časom. Vonj je vsekakor univerzalno všečen, vendar osebno ni moj favorit. Primeren je za ženske, ki na splošno obožujejo čiste cvetne vonje. Ever Bloom linija vsebuje tudi losjon, kremo za telo in gel za tuširanje.



Among skincare, I have to mention several novelties. What mainly caught my attention was Future Solution LX Replenishing Treatment Oil that sinks into the skin and hair instantly, similar to dry oils. Multitasking properties are always welcomed in my book. Also, the idea of combining anti-age and even skintone in Bio Performance Glow Revival Line was pretty neat. I love some extra glow to my skin and reduced pigmentation. I was fascinated by it's nourishing yet light texture and the Glow Revival Eye Cream has a neat massaging applicator for pulse points. Honestly, prices are way over my student budget and more compatible to older generations (over 50€ starts the rank). After successful Ultimune release, there's also a new eye treatment called Ultimune Eye Power Infusing Eye Concentrate that tremendously hydrates delicate eye area.

Med negovalno kozmetiko prav tako cveti kup novosti. Osebno me je najbolj pritegnil Future Solution LX Replanishing Treatment Oil, ki se kot olje izredno hitro vpije - podobno suhemu olju. Uporablja se lahko tako kot maska za lase ali negovalno olje za obraz in telo. Ideja same združitve anti-age in poenotene polti v eno samo linijo Bio Performance Glow Revival je praktično zanimiva. Verjamem, da se nihče ne bi branil leska na koži, manj pigmentacijskih nepravilnosti hkrati pa se lahko izogne gubicam. Sama krema v tej liniji me je pustila očarano, saj je tekstura izjemno hranilna in hkrati lahkotna. Glow Revival Eye Cream pa se lahko ponaša s posebno oblikovanim aplikatorjem za dodatno masažo predela oči kar dodatno prepreči neželjene gubice in izboljša zabuhlost. Ne smem pozabiti tudi na Ultimune Eye Power Infusing Eye Concentrate, ki obljublja enako učinkovitost in hidratacijo kot malce starejša verzija koncentrata. Iskreno, cene Shiseido negovalne kozmetike so daleč od mojega študentskega proračuna (je v ranku od 50€ dalje) in so bolj primerne za starejšo generacijo.


Shiseido makeup launch includes Full Lash Serum (about 46€) and Full Lash Volume Mascara (29€), which are supposedly the products for longer and fuller lashes. What personally intrigued me the most are cream eyeshadows and Fall shades of lipsticks from Fall 2015 Collection. Obviously, I couldn't hide excitement over Fall inspired shades and creamy formula. Shimmering Cream Eye Color come in additional 5 shades of dirty yellow, moss green, taupe camel, warm brown and my personal favourite, dirty rose taupe. They were all highly pigmented with a matte finish and additional subtle shimmery particles. Love at first touch.

Meni (in Vam) najbolj zanimiv del, linija novih ličil, je pridobila nekaj novih jesensko obarvanih izdelkov. V ospredju je sicer Full Lash Serum (okoli 46€) s katerim negujete trepalnice, jim dodate volumen po nanosu (ko se posuši lahko dodate sloj maskare) in omogočite rast novih, daljših trepalnic. Full Lash Volume Mascara (29€) je prav tako favorit osebja, saj se oblika prilagaja očem (je ukrivljena) in doda obljubljen volumen. Sama sem bila presenečena nad kremnimi senčili, ki so že sicer potrjena stalnica redne linije, vendar še nisem bila seznanjena z teksturo in obstojnostjo. Shimmering Cream Eye Colour (okoli 30€) je tako dodanih 5 jesenskih odtenkov ki so oker rumena, zelena kot mah, kamelje siva, toplo rjava in moja najljubša, umazano roza sivkasta. Vsi so bili odlično pigmentirani z mat učinkom ter ščepcem skoraj nevidnih bleščic. Obstojnost je vsekakor odlična tudi brez uporabe senčil v prahu. Ljubezen na prvi dotik.



Perfect Rouge (standard lipstick shape, around 29€) are highly pigmented yet really creamy in texture. They glide on the skin effortlessly. My personal pick would be Cocoa Rose PK354, stunning wearable pink nude and Empress RS656, smokey medium berry. And how perfect is the brown shade for the trendy brown lips? It would look great on medium skintones. I was blown away by their creamy consistency, I might need to add one of these to my extensive lipstick collection.

Perfect Rouge šminke (okoli 29€) so močno pigmentirane in hkrati ekstremno kremne po teksturi. Na koži se topijo kot maslo in obenem negujejo ustnice. Glede na jesenski nabor 5 barv, mi je takoj v oči padel odtenek PK354 Cocoa Rose, čudovito nosljiv roza nude odtenek. RS656 Empress tudi ni daleč na lestvici ljubših odtenkov, saj preseneti z zadimljeno slivovo barvo. Rjavi odtenki so trenutni trend, vendar bi tale Shiseido interpretacija pristajala le zagoreli polti. Enostavno sem očarana nad kremno teksturo, vsekakor si želim dodati kakšno v lastno zbirko. 



Veiled Rouge (around 25€) are not as intriguing in colours as Perfect Rouge but they offer buildable coverage and hydration. Three shades out of 4 new are pink based and differ only in undertones. OR313 Honeydew is a unique mandarin-honey like colour that brings out warmth to complexion. They all have tiny, microscopic shimmer that creates an illusion of fuller and juicy lips.

Veiled Rouge šminke (okoli 25€) me sicer niso pritegnile tako močno kot Perfect Rouge, vendar se ponašajo z vlažilno formulo, podobno balzamu. Barve so tako dokaj prosojne vendar lahko postanejo intenzivne z dodatnim nanosom. Trije odtenki od štirih za Jesen 2015 so dokaj roza bazirani z drugačnimi podtoni. OR313 Honeydew je tako izjema, saj je nenavadno obarvan kot nekakšna medena mandarina. Vsi odtenki imajo mikroskopske svetlikajoče delce ki podajo videz sočnih in večjih ustnic.



If I touch the event itself, the atmosphere was cozy and enjoyable. I usually don't take indepth pictures on events but this time, I totally fell into my zone. Shiseido team was professional and warm hearted at the same time while I felt honoured to learn from Simona Caletti, International Training Manager. Presentation was short and sweet with an afterwards debate. I need to thank Shiseido team for noticing my effort and love towards higher end brands for inviting me to such an exclusive event.

Če se za konec še dotaknem samega Shiseido dogodka, bi z lahkoto lahko trdila da je bilo v manjših skupinicah prijetno vzdušje in atmosfera. Na dogodkih sicer ne slikam izdelkov v takšne podrobnosti, vendar sem tukaj čisto ''padla v svoj element'' zaradi sproščenosti. Shiseido ekipa je bila zelo profesionalna in hkrati sevala toplino, obenem pa sem bila počaščena da lahko spoznam Simono Caletti, mednarodno vodjo usposabljanja za Shiseido. Predstavitev je bila kratka a sladka. Prav tako bi se zahvalila Shiseido ekipi, da so opazili moj trud in ljubezen do kozmetike.

  2. Priznam da še nikoli nisem sprobala ničesar od Shiseido kozmetike, ker se pri takih cenah z mojim proračunom raje sploh ne ustavljam :) Vseeno pa izdelki izgledajo krasno, sploh senčila za oči... Ampak bo sprobavanje te znamke moralo počakat na malo debelejšo denarnico :)
