Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer Review, Swatches

This Maybelline Age Rewind concealer (or Instant Anti-age Effekt in Germany) is my second rebuy although I wasn't truly happy with my first one. But the sponge and easy application made me justify to try my luck again. I'm pretty sure that these factors - easy application, great blendability and medium coverage make it so popular among beauty bloggers.

Maybelline Age Rewind concealer in 03 Fair is a good match for pale skintones like mine. I love it for dark circles, over less obvious blemishes and on large surface areas (around my mouth and certain hyperpigmentation). Blends like a dream but still leaves a decent medium coverage. You can definitely still see through more obvious flaws but still covers dark circles quite good. Twist up mechanism makes easier application but there's a possibility you'll broke it if you twist it too fast. Sponge isn't the most sanitary either but blends like no other. Still, I use my fingers to really blend it well into my skin. For longevity I can't say much. I'm not really aware of my foundation and concealer wear time since I always fix with a powder and setting spray and lasts a good working day. Not to mention I rub and touch my face but I'm pretty safe to say that it lasts about 4-6 hours. Formula is lightweight therefore easy to blend and easy to manage, suitable for ''concealer beginners''.

I wouldn't call this concealer to be perfect for covering flaws and acne but it's pretty decent for dark circles. As you can tell from the upper picture, you can definitely see a difference. It covered most of my blue and pink hues around my eyes. Plus it's actually pretty good at covering my freckles.
It's a great addition to the stash but keep in mind you'll need a heavy-duty concealer on the hand in case you get any blemishes. Also note if you hate broken packaging/mechanisms you may be careful picking this up.
I will probably rebuy this concealer if the twist up mechanism survives until the last bits.
You can get it for about 10€ on bigger Maybelline counters (in Austria in our case).

  1. Moj najljubši korektor ever! Ta lahka tekstura mi je res zelo všeč in tako kot praviš gobica "blends like no other" :) Zakaj tega ni pri nas :/

  2. Tale korektor imam že dolgo na seznamu. Ogromno blogerk je navdušeno nad tem, ampak nikakor ne pridem do njega. V Avstriji sem ga enkrat videla v Bipi, ampak se nisem mogla pripraviti, da bi ga kupila za 13 ali celo 14€ - too much.

  3. This is one of my HG concealers. The mechanism on mine has lasted, but I can't say the same for the Instant Age Eraser foundation one. It broke after the second use, which is a shame because I was liking the formula. They really need to perfect the packaging more, because the formula is great!

  4. Torej tega ni za dobit v Sloveniji?
Sama imam zelo velike težave s podočnjaki in bi kaj takšnega nujno potrebovala...
    Ta izgleda res fajn! :)

  7. I've been tempted for this sucker since it was released but haven't pulled the trigger on it yet. I think it's because of the packaging. I like the idea of the sponge tip--but hearing everyone's worries about the bacteria, etc, I've just steered clear. I'm still tempted though! I currently use the Rimmell conceal and highlight for my under eyes and it works great!
